The mechanical specifications of this vice are the same as those of the mechanical MPT/58 model.
A hydropneumatic cylinder controls the automatic opening and closing of the vice through a pedal valve leaving the operator’s hands free; this type of vice is essential for light mass production machining operations. The hydropneumatic unit operates on low pressure compressed air (max. 4 ATE).
The clamping force obtained by the intensification of air/oil goes from 0 to 1200 kg and can be adjusted by reducing incoming air pressure. The automatic closing stroke is purposely limited to about 4 mm in order to comply with accident prevention standards. The vice is normally equipped with indented prismatic jaws made of casehardened, tempered, ground steel.
Rubber tubes, pressure reducer with gauge and pedal valve are supplied with the vice and so it is ready for use.
